Session Strings gives you four different instrument groups, each with its own set of playing styles.
The material on Session Strings was performed by Stockholm Session Strings , a 12-piece String ensemble renown for their work with artists such as Celine Dion, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears and Westlife.

All instruments were recorded using Neumann U87 microphones placed at a distance of approximately 1 meter/3 feet. The end result was created by blending the "dry" signal with room ambience picked up by two Bruel&Kjaer 4006 microphones.

We recommend an external MIDI sampler (ex: KORG Pad kontrol) for a quicker access to the samples data.

Beat box live
The Microphone input is now connected to your MixVibes players. Plug a MIC in your professional soundcard for beat box, MC’s performances or announcements. The instant MIC recording saves the file in a specific folder. Once recorded, the file can be dragged and dropped into the player, for instance scratch live!

VST instrument and effect
The Steinberg VST plug-in and free VST effects are hosted in MixVibes PRODUCER. MIDI keyboard should be connected to your computer to play the instruments. We recommend official VST instrument purchased in retail. For live performers, the melodies played through VST instruments can be recorded as a media file. Then, drag and drop the file in your player and mix it live with your turntables.

MIDI learning
As every controller has its own configuration, the PRODUCER is now including a very intuitive MIDI learning. It is really easy to map your favourite controller and control the DJ software. The version 7 includes pre mapped MIDI files for VCI-100, Hercules DJ Console RMX and MK2, Pioneer CDJ-400, M-Audio X-session and more…

14 FX and 7 VST included
Bring more creativity in your mix thanks to the FX included. Flanging, Phasing, Reverb, Echo are some of the 14 FX included. These FX can be adjusted in the HOME player or directly from your MIDI controller. Up to 6 FX can be affected at the same time.

This CD set features the burgeoning talent of Wayne Proctor performing a wide range
of live loops and fills in a number of distinct styles and sounds. Fat Sounding
Beats, 70s Style Funk, Classic Studio, Big Ambient and Ambient and Dry Rock sections
are all included along with a special selection of fills.
"Who is this drummer?" was my first question as I listened, mouth wide open, to the
loops on King Tone Grooves. Talk about five-star stellar drumming.
According to the liners, our man in question is Wayne Proctor. Not since hearing the
likes of Purdie, Porcaro, and Gadd have I been so impressed with a groove-oriented
drummer. His pocket is deep, his time feel impeccable, and his taste factor through
the roof.
The drum tones on this disc are fat and punchy, and mostly favor vintage tube warmth
over digital transparency. At times the sounds are downright lo-fi, which I like.
There's a nice variety, though. Some loops are dry and tight, some are EQ'd and
filtered, some have an angry distorted edge.
The loops are categorized by sound and/or style: Fat Sounding Beats, Seventies Style
Funk, Classic Studio Sound, Big Ambient Sound, Fills, and Rock Loops. The audio is
true to the titles. Behold the monstrous "Bonham" beats as primo examples. Quite a
few of the beats are in fact spot-on blasts from the past. Check out the "Moving"
loops: It's "Brick House" reborn. And in addition to nailing Bonzo's famous triplet
kicks in the aforementioned "Bonham" section, Proctor also nods to Led Zep in the
"Killer 003" group, in this case the classic "Levee Breaks" shuffle. "These loops are
supremely vibey," concurs tech editor John Krogh. "There's no question they could
easily be dropped into a track as is with great success. There's plenty of beef
without any of the fluff created from wacky processing tricks. I like that."

для новичков - MIDI хранит не оцифрованный звук, а наборы команд (проигрываемые ноты, ссылки на проигрываемые инструменты, значения изменяемых параметров звука), которые могут воспроизводиться по-разному в зависимости от устройства воспроизведения. Удобство формата MIDI как формата представления данных позволяет реализовывать устройства, производящие автоматическую аранжировку по заданным аккордам, а также приложения 3D-визуализации звука. Кроме того, такие файлы, как правило, имеют на несколько порядков меньший размер, чем оцифрованный звук сравнимого качества.

Стандартный MIDI файл (SMF v Standard MIDI FIle) — это специально разработанный формат файлов, предназначенный для хранения данных, записываемых и/или исполняемых секвенсором, секвенсор может быть как программой для компьютера, так и аппаратно выполненным модулем.

В этом формате хранятся стандартные MIDI сообщения (то есть статус-байты и соответствующие им байты данных), а также временные метки или маркеры для каждого сообщения (то есть последовательности байтов, указывающие, какое количество условных единиц времени (импульсов, тиков) необходимо подождать перед тем, как исполнить следующее событие MIDI). Этот формат позволяет сохранять информацию о темпе, временном разрешении, выраженном в количестве тиков на одну четвертную длительность (или во временных единицах, приходящихся на одну секунду, в формате SMPTE), обозначения размера, информацию о музыкальных ключах, а также хранить названия треков и паттернов. Формат предусматривает возможность сохранения в одном файле нескольких паттернов и треков таким образом, что программы-приложения могут выбирать из всего набора хранимой информации ту, которая будет понятна данному приложению.

Кому интересно, можете попробовать Cyberlink PowerDirector 6 очень простая в использовании программа, читает все форматы. Я её использую для создания титров и редактирования. У нее есть свои эффекты и переходы. Есть возможность сделать меню.

Существует множество плагинов для Total. Поэтому хотелось бы осветить их назначение и применение в этой теме.

Кто-нибудь пользуется плагином cddatabase4_2657 : создает реальное дерево содержимого диска папки, файлы с последующим сохранением в базе данных, очень удобно если имеется много дисков с программами и тп.
